Placing the Accent on Equity in Computer Science Education
The Chicago Alliance For Equity in Computer Science (CAFÉCS) is a research-practice partnership with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) that fosters equity in computer science (CS).
Empowering students to shape the emerging future
Since 2011, CAFÉCS has supported CPS students by opening doors to CS learning.
We focus on solving real challenges in education through research and development, giving students more chances to build analytical, critical thinking, creative, and problem-solving skills—essential for success in and beyond the classroom.
CAFÉCS also empowers teachers with courses and resources that bring inquiry-based, engaging, and relevant computer science activities into their classrooms. Our goal is to foster inclusive learning environments where every student feels supported and inspired to explore computing pathways.
